Accessibility Statement

Last updated: April 7, 2026

Our Commitment

bugAgent is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to make our platform as inclusive as possible.

We believe that every user — regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology — should be able to report bugs, manage tests, review code, and collaborate with their team effectively.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conforming to these guidelines also helps make content more usable to all users.

While we strive to adhere to the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines, there may be areas where we have not yet achieved full conformance. We are actively working to identify and resolve any accessibility gaps.

Accessibility Features

bugAgent includes the following accessibility features across our website and dashboard:

Navigation

  • Keyboard-navigable interface across all pages and interactive elements
  • Logical heading hierarchy (h1 through h6) for screen reader navigation
  • ARIA labels on interactive elements including buttons, form inputs, and navigation menus
  • Focus indicators on all interactive elements

Visual Design

  • Color contrast ratios that meet WCAG AA standards for text readability
  • Information is never conveyed by color alone — severity badges, status indicators, and alerts use text labels alongside color
  • Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels up to 200%
  • Respects user preference for reduced motion where applicable

Forms and Inputs

  • All form fields have associated labels
  • Error messages are descriptive and programmatically associated with their fields
  • Autocomplete attributes on common fields (name, email, password)
  • Required fields are clearly indicated

Media and Attachments

  • Image lightbox supports keyboard navigation (arrow keys to cycle, Escape to close)
  • Alt text on informational images
  • File upload areas support keyboard interaction

Built-in Accessibility Testing

  • WCAG Scan — Our bugAgent Tools (SDK) includes a one-click accessibility scanner powered by axe-core, covering 60+ WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level A and AA rules plus best-practice checks. Results are grouped by severity with element selectors for quick remediation.
  • Exploratory AI — Our Accessibility Scanner agent automatically tests keyboard navigation, ARIA labels, contrast ratios, heading hierarchy, and focus traps during autonomous exploration runs.

Known Limitations

While we work toward full accessibility, we are aware of the following areas that may present challenges:

  • Kanban board — Drag-and-drop functionality on the bug report Kanban board is mouse-dependent. Status changes can alternatively be made from the report detail page using keyboard-accessible dropdowns.
  • Code editors — The Playwright script editor and note editor use monospace text areas that may have limited screen reader support for syntax-specific context.
  • Charts and graphs — Analytics dashboard charts provide visual data representation. The underlying data is available through the API and can be exported as CSV.
  • Third-party content — Some integrations (Jira, Slack, GitHub) link to external services whose accessibility is governed by their own policies.

We are actively working to address these limitations and improve accessibility across all features.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

bugAgent is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers (VoiceOver on macOS/iOS, NVDA and JAWS on Windows, TalkBack on Android)
  • Voice control software (Voice Control on macOS, Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Screen magnification software
  • Browser accessibility extensions and high-contrast modes

Testing and Evaluation

We evaluate accessibility through a combination of:

  • Automated scanning — Regular axe-core audits via our own WCAG Scan tool and Lighthouse accessibility audits
  • Manual testing — Keyboard-only navigation testing, screen reader testing, and zoom/reflow testing
  • Continuous monitoring — Our Exploratory AI includes an Accessibility Scanner agent that checks for WCAG violations during every automated test run
  • Community feedback — User-reported accessibility issues are prioritized in our bug tracking workflow
